Destin Attractions & Delights

Welcome to Destin, which as a whole could be argued as the best destination around with all the seaside attractions and things to do. However, it can be overwhelming to choose what’s worth your while. That’s why we’ve narrowed down a list for you of the most sought after attractions so your vacation can be just as breezy as the beach wind.

The Most Popular Destin Attractions

Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park

To say this spot is an aquarium is an understatement. Gulfarium sits right on the ocean shores next to all its aquatic friends which makes it the perfect after-beach activity (or before). The Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park has animal encounters where you could spend some one on one personal time with a stingray, a dolphin, or even a sea lion. If you’re more interested in sitting back and enjoying the show, you can do just that at one of their many sea life shows. If it’s a sea show you’re into, Gulfarium is the ultimate Destin Attraction that you are looking for.

Baytowne Village Wharf

This wharf isn’t your average one, The Baytowne Village Wharf has plenty more to offer than just sitting on the dock of the bay if you know what we mean. This wharf has restaurants, shopping, and a view but what it’s most known for are the events. Baytowne holds a farmer’s market with tons of local produce to choose from. There’s also the Wednesday Night Concert Series which is literal music to your ears or Scallywag Sundays that will have you saying “yarr matey” because it’s a pirate-themed day with what they describe as music and mayhem. Don’t get us started on the Duck Regatta which involves a scavenger hunt, face painting, carousel rides, and of course a duck costume contest. The Baytowne Village Wharf is the Destin attraction where you want to be.

The Annual Destin Seafood Festival

This festival is for you seafood-loving oyster fans. It’s big and it’s been around for 45 years! The city of Destin is deemed “the luckiest fishing town”, it’s no surprise that they would hold this event. What can you expect there? Starting at this masterful event is the Destin Fishing Rodeo. Then there’s the main event which has 110 food and craft vendors and local restaurants. Eat your heart out in seafood at this delightful extravaganza. This Destin Attraction takes place in the fall.

Crab Island

Don’t worry, it’s not an island just for crabs, you can go too. Not to disappoint all you crab lovers either, but the island is unfortunately not overrun by crabs despite its name. This island is not an island at all, it’s a sandbar. What makes this sandbar so special that it’s made its way on this list?  Well, we should start by saying it was an island many years ago and known as a quant place to park your Destin, Florida pontoon rental boat and hang out. Today the eroded island is still popular with the perseverance of its people and its love for the spot. It has become a popular gathering location for many spring breakers and their Destin pontoon rental.  While there, you can make friends with a neighboring boater or check out one of the boat vendors they typically have out there. You will need to reach this Destin attraction by boat, but we’ve got you covered with our Destin pontoon boats for rent and our very special Crab Island Runner.

Gator Beach

Gator Beach is known as the world’s greatest alligator park and… it’s completely free! We know it sounds too good to be true, but all you gator fanatics better get excited!  Not only are there hundreds of alligators but you can feed them too. Maybe you’re feeling a little less adventurous, not to worry they have informative gator shows too, which by the way are also free. Have you ever wanted to see a reptile from the tiny times of their childhood? Gator Beach has baby gators to get up close and personal with, which would typically be hard with those big old mama gators around. Get your Crocodile Dundee on at this Destin Attraction, but with gators.

Big Kahunas

Big Kahunas is the right combo of tropical island paradise and adventure all within the safe confines of a well-maintained water park.  This aqua-based theme park makes a splash with its endless slides, rides, and waves even throwing some rivers and pools in there. Although water is EVERYTHING, your body is made of roughly 60% of it after all. If you’re not feeling the wet vibes, they have more to choose from. This Destin attraction also has a tropical mini golf and a Sky Coaster where you hang 100 feet in the air at 60 mph, talk about soaring! Big Kahunas is all about getting wet or wild so come and pick your vice.

Parasailing

Being on the beach in Destin brings a slew of attractions but have you considered the main one for the day? Why just lay in the sand when you could sit perched up in the sky staring down at it? Parasailing is the closest you can get to flying without putting in any of the work. Enjoy a nice boat ride out into the open emerald waters, let us strap you in, and off you go flying high in the sky. The easiest most enjoyable experience a person can have. So come and live life on the edge but in a safe way! You’ll get to see all the Destin attractions, from above!

Come for the attractions and stay for the fun. No matter what activity you decide to play at, the city of Destin will be a home run.
