Where to Eat on the Destin Harbor Boardwalk

The Destin, FL boardwalk is a happening place to be, even through the fall months. It’s no secret that Destin is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the U.S., with the Destin Harbor Boardwalk being the central location for many families, friend groups, and couples to gather for a long weekend.

And in between water sports and sunbathing, you’ll find plenty of delicious food to indulge in.

Fortunately, there are so many restaurants on the boardwalk that you should never go hungry. The bigger challenge is knowing where to eat in Destin so you can fit in all that fresh seafood and take in the views.

There are so many restaurants to choose from along the Destin Harbor Boardwalk, regardless of whether you’re looking for a fish filet, a hearty steak, or a light salad. So keep living those summer vibes. Start planning your trip to Destin, and make sure you make time to stop at each of these Destin restaurants while you’re there.

Destin Harbor Boardwalk Restaurants: Our List

We’ll go into all the mouth-watering details, but here’s a quick glimpse of some of the best Destin restaurants:

  • Margaritaville
  • Harry T’s
  • Crab Island Seafood Restaurant
  • Boshamps Seafood and Oyster Restaurant
  • Capriccio Cafe

Now, read on to choose the one with the right menu and vibe – or if you’re feeling ambitious, book your reservation for all five.

Margaritaville

This one tops off many lists of the best places to eat in Destin, and for good reason. Enjoy a waterfront view while you peruse the long menu at Margaritaville. A popular destination in any beach town, Margaritaville is perfect for families, since there’s something for everyone – even for those with a picky palate.

Destin’s Margaritaville is located right on the water, just steps away from a number of boat rentals and tour companies. So this will be an easy stop to fit in along with your other activities.

Harry T’s

Harry Ty’s is another one of those quintessential Destin restaurants. This one’s a local stand-by, and you’ll want to stop in at least once. Their website advertises seafood, spirits, and sunsets – what else could you ask for?

Legendary within Destin, Harry T’s even has their own beach shop. Try to snag an outdoor table for gorgeous seaside views (and don’t worry, they’re fully equipped with fans and overhead coverings, so you can enjoy that salt air in any weather).

Crab Island Seafood Restaurant

Dine in or order fresh seafood to your hotel for a relaxing night in. As you probably guessed from the name, Crab Island is a must for anyone who’s craving fresh fish or shellfish. Call ahead to find out what the fresh catch is. And those who are more turf and less surf will be equally happy with their prime rib.

Crab Island Seafood is located in HarborWalk Village, so if you time your dinner right, you might even be able to catch some fireworks or enjoy one of the many events they host throughout the summer.

Boshamps Seafood and Oyster House

With 4.5 stars and over 5,000 reviews on Google, Boshamps is a safe bet.

Find out what all the fuss is about and try out their local blue crab claws, cornmeal fried oysters, and the gulf grouper. For the full experience, check their website in advance so you can make sure you dine during one of their live music performances; it’ll make for the ultimate beach-side meal.

Just make sure you leave yourself a little extra time, since there may be a wait for a table at this popular joint.

Capriccio Cafe

When you’re planning a vacation, breakfast tends to get neglected. But when you’ve been on the go for a couple of days and don’t have time for a full sit-down brunch, you need to find someplace to grab a cup of joe and a light bite.

When you’re in the mood for a coffee, pastries, and a relaxed atmosphere, stop by Capriccio. You can enjoy breakfast before the start of a long day on the beach. You’ll find sandwiches, salads, and delectable crepe on the menu, among other fresh-made delicacies.

Things to do on the Destin Boardwalk

Now that you’ve got breakfast, lunch, and dinner covered with some of the best Destin restaurants, you can book a few activities for your Destin vacay.

Rent a jet ski for a couple of hours to catch a breeze. With a combination of sunshine and just a splash of adrenaline, it’s the perfect activity for couples, families, or even if you’re flying solo.

On day 2, go on a dolphin tour to see some local wildlife.

And if you have time for it, rent a boat for an all-day fishing excursion. It’ll be a one-of-a-kind experience with plenty of photo ops – and you may even come home with dinner for the whole family. Just remember to take a bottle of sunscreen and sunglasses with you to protect against those UV rays, which in Florida are strong even in the fall.

Plan Ahead to Fit It All In

The Destin Harbor Boardwalk is full of things to do, from water activities to an active bar scene. But you can’t enjoy it if you’re hungry. So before you pack your bags, figure out where to eat in Destin so you can satisfy all your seafood cravings.

If possible, make dinner reservations in advance – especially if you’re traveling over a busy holiday weekend or during peak tourist seasons. This will allow you to kick back and enjoy every moment of those white sand beaches, rather than anxiously scrolling through restaurants on your phone to try to lock in a table at the last minute.

And of course, buy tickets for your must-do activities ahead of time, so you can make sure you fit in everything on your list.

Hopefully this list of Destin Harbor Boardwalk restaurants has helped you plan out your beach trip, and leave yourself plenty of time for sunny lunches and relaxing dinners. No matter what time of year you travel, your Destin getaway is going to be a memorable (and delicious) one.
